Doney Management and Consulting, LLC, was founded by retired Chief of Police, Tim Doney. Tim's career spans more than 34 years in public safety and law-enforcement, which includes experience in fire, emergency medical services, and juvenile justice. His law enforcement assignments included Undercover Investigator, Patrol Officer, Training Officer, Detective (investigating financial, property, and major person crimes), Sergeant, Lieutenant, Deputy Chief, and Chief of Police. The majority of Tim's career was spent with the City of Medford, Oregon Police Department.
Tim Doney’s leadership experience includes managing a full-service police department as Chief of Police (records, dispatch, patrol, investigations, animal control, and the largest municipal jail in the State of Oregon). In addition, Tim assisted in forming and leading a federally funded drug and gang enforcement task force. He also has experience in labor negotiations, as well as personnel investigations involving both criminal and administrative complaints involving employees.
In 2016, Tim Doney retired as Chief of Police in Springfield, Oregon. After retiring, Tim contracted with the Oregon/Idaho High Intensity Drug Trafficking Program (HIDTA) as a Program (Training) Coordinator. In 2018, Tim was selected to lead the Talent, Oregon Police Department as Chief of Police. In conjunction with this position, Tim was the designated Emergency Manager for the City of Talent. Tim retired from active law-enforcement in 2020.
Tim Doney is a graduate of Corban University and holds a B.S. Degree in Business Administration – Management and Communications. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy (235th Session). Tim Doney is a proud member of the following organizations: Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police, International Association of Chiefs of Police, Police Executive Research Forum and the FBI National Academy Associates.
